We do not send surveyors out this far, so we will set you up to measure yourself instead. It takes about ten minutes a window and you get exactly the same made to measure panes.

How do I measure my own windows?

We make it easy. You get a laser measuring device on loan, a step by step video guide, and the option of a live phone or video call to walk you through it. Watch the video, do the first window with us on a call, then finish the rest on your own.

Do I need any tools?

Just a top reader tape measure or a laser measure. Nothing else, and no special kit. If you do not have either, we will post you a laser measure to borrow.

How long does measuring take?

About 5 to 10 minutes a window, and quicker once you have done the first one. Our video guide walks you through that first window so you know exactly what you are doing before you start.

What if I measure wrong?

Our laser measure and guided support are designed to prevent that. If you are unsure at any point, send us your measurements and we will check them, or book a call and we will measure the first window with you before you order anything.

If you would like to be completely certain, order a single pane first and see how it fits. If it comes back the wrong size, we will refund it.

Because every pane is cut to the measurements you give us, we cannot replace a full order free of charge if those measurements turn out to be wrong. That is what the check, the call and the test pane are there for. Anything that arrives faulty or not as described is a different matter, and we will always put that right.

Is the laser measure really free to use?

Yes. We send it to you as a loan to take your measurements, so you get surveyor level accuracy at home. We hold £40 for the device and refund it in full when you post it back, and we cover the postage both ways.

Are they hard to fit?

No. Retro Panes are designed to slot into your existing sash windows in minutes, with no tools needed, and they are fully removable if you ever need to take them out.

How much does it cost?

Send us a message and we will look at the options with you. We do not have a team near you, so we cannot promise a visit, but we would much rather talk it through than leave you to it.
